Letter from Meredith
As a business owner, I know that Leverette Weekes’ services are only as effective as our team. I’m so excited to welcome Jai Winston on board as a Senior Consultant. We got to know Jai first as a client during his tenure at the Knight Foundation, where he managed a multi-million dollar investment portfolio to foster vibrant, equitable entrepreneurial communities in St. Paul.

Previously, Jai was in the Office of the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Ariel Investments, a minority-owned money management firm in Chicago. At Ariel, he co-led several of the CEO’s special projects, including a national initiative on financial literacy and minority entrepreneurship and the Black Corporate Directors Conference, an annual gathering of Black directors serving on Fortune 500 boards.
We’re excited to include Jai’s diverse professional background and deep relationships with national philanthropic organizations in LW’s projects supporting nonprofits seeking to attract new funders and position their organizations globally.
As our client roster grows, I’m proud to continue recruiting talented consultants who share LW’s commitment to community, integrity, and excellence. Welcome to the team, Jai!

MBCRE

Earlier this month, our client MBCRE kicked off Minnesota’s legislative session by hosting a Learning Session on business's role in policymaking. Guest speakers, including former Minnesota State Senator Jeff Hayden joined member companies. Learn more about MBCRE’s work and future Learning Sessions on their website.
GreenLight Fund Twin Cities
Last week, LW’s client, GreenLight Fund Twin Cities, announced a multi-year investment in Inner Explorer’s to help scale a groundbreaking mindfulness program into classrooms across Minneapolis and St. Paul. This bold initiative addresses persistent mental health disparities among Black, Indigenous, and Youth of Color in Minnesota, who are up to 50% less likely to receive community-based mental health services compared to their white peers. Read more about the initiative here.
